What is TRFC
Translocal Research & Fieldwork Consulting (TRFC) is an international research consultancy leveraging a flexible, cross-border network to conduct field-based and policy-oriented research on the African continent and in European diaspora contexts. The firm was founded by researchers with extensive experience conducting multi-country research across West, North, and Central Africa, as well as in European institutional contexts.

Mr. Yacine Benazzouz
VolunteerMr. Benazzouz Yacine brings experience in deal advisory and restructuring combined with policy-oriented research and strategic analysis. He has worked on advisory engagements at Interpath Advisory and KPMG, focusing on financial and operational analysis, research, and the structuring of insights to support decision-making in complex environments.
Currently a Master's student in European Studies in Germany, his academic work complements his professional experience with a strong understanding of European social and economic policy. He brings a structured, research-driven approach to consulting, with strengths in analytical rigor, synthesis of complex information, and strategic framing.
Mr. Karamba Jallow
FounderMr. Karamba Jallow is a Gambian researcher and policy consultant specializing in security governance, migration, and peacebuilding in West Africa and Europe. His work spans regional security, constitutional reform, institutional capacity-building, and citizen perceptions of international and regional interventions, bridging academic research, civil society engagement, and applied policy work.
He has led ATJLF-funded projects at the Centre for Research and Policy Development (CRPD) focused on strengthening the operational and technical capacities of security institutions in The Gambia, and collaborated with the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) on security and regional governance research. His experience includes extensive fieldwork with Afrobarometer, serving as a Quality Control Officer for Gallup, and most recently acting as a co-researcher in Germany on the Deporting Foreigners (NORMS) project led by Dr. Erlend Paasche (Institute for Social Research, Oslo). His work combines qualitative field research, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis, with a strong focus on how global and regional norms are experienced by everyday citizens.
Dr. Luqman Saka
Consultant/AdvisorLuqman SAKA is a Professor of Political Science at the University of the Gambia and University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He also serves as the Director of Research and Knowledge Management at the Centre for Research and Policy Development, CRPD, The Gambia. He currently serves on the scientific committee of the Research and Action for Peace (REcAP), network. He has his first and second degree in Political Science from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 2002 & 2005 respectively and his doctoral degree in International Studies from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2012.
He is an alumnus of the American Political Science Association APSA, Africa Fellows Programme, 2013; the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, 2011 and CODESRIA Governance Institute, 2007. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations, North-West University, Mafikeng Campus, Republic of South Africa (2015-2016). He has participated in Point Sud Research Institute, Bamako and Goethe University, Frankfurt-Main workshops in Bamako, 2019, Niamey 2021 and Dakar, 2025. Professor Saka's works has appeared in leading international outlets including World Development, Comparative Sociology, Brazilian Journal of African Studies, Asian Issues, Africa Security Review, Journal of Developing Areas and the Nigerian Journal of International Affairs among others.
